Capability summary
Strongest status per domain; every underlying record is listed below. Availability does not establish task success.
Positioning & scope
Focusing on mailboxes, calendars, documents, tasks and background work; the personal assistant can be extended to share integrations, routines and skills.
Regions, eligibility & access
Free: 30 chats per month, weekly briefings only; Starter $15/month, 1,250 credits, 2 schedule routines; Pro $49, Power $99, Power Plus $199/month, the latter three are paid annually; Team $59, Team Plus $149/seat/month, etc.
Conditions: Payment consumes credits; the price page defaults to annual payment, and Starter only pays monthly.; Pro and above can open an additional excess budget; it will be suspended when the quota is used up.
Limitations: The tax or regional currency has not been entered into the settlement; the team and individual quota rules are different.
The listed sources were reviewed, but sufficient public documentation was not found.
Limitations: We have checked the listed official website, help/FAQ or policies and third-party records, and found no sufficient public explanation; unknown does not mean that it is not supported.
Autonomy & background work
Supports scheduling, email/calendar events, and webhooks; Starter only supports schedules and can be triggered once a day at most, Pro and above have all types of triggers; Free weekly newsletter only.
Execution environments
routines are executed in the background; the public docs list Town Desktop, but this time the general local/cloud GUI computer operation specifications are not verified.
Calls, messages & identity
Townie has an independent @town.com email address; drafts can be drafted from the user account by default and sent after approval; trusted contacts can be set up to avoid successive approvals.
Connectors & tools
Google Workspace, Microsoft365, Slack, Notion, Linear, GitHub/GitLab, Airtable and CRM/finance/conferencing tools; support custom MCP.
Conditions: Each connection and action permission is configured individually
Limitations: It is not "listed in the directory, that is, every read and write operation is tested successfully"
Memory & personalization
Save people/projects, personal backgrounds, communication styles, and preferences; have cross-account context and global/specific routine memory management.
Channels & interfaces
Web, desktop, iOS, exclusive @town.com email, plus Slack, WhatsApp, Telegram and SMS. Officials have clarified that instant messaging channels should not rely on proactive briefings and reliable notifications on Priority Mail/Web/iOS.
Research & deliverables
The docs list includes Decks, Town AI Document, Recordings, Character Research and Meeting Brief; iOS supports voice notes/recordings.
Limitations: The quality of specialized document generation has not been independently tested
Collaboration & parallelism
Shared integration, installable routines, team skills, and assistants for everyone in Slack; only paid teams can run team backend routines.
Reliability & recovery
The routine caches results step by step and reuses completed steps after approval or temporary errors; caching is limited to this run.
Permissions, security & data
The session defaults to confirming any changes first; there are also automatic safe actions and automatic full actions; routines also have autonomous/approval/read-only modes and permissions by tool.
Limitations: "Read-only execution mode" cannot be confused with the underlying OAuth read-only scope
Officially called SOC2 Type2 audit, the data is hosted and encrypted by Convex/AWS in the United States; training is off by default, and Google data is never trained; the entire inbox is not copied and indexed, and the account is permanently removed within 30 days of deletion.
Limitations: The audit report requires NDA. I have not reviewed the report this time; it is not an independent audit conclusion.
External evaluations & observations
9/29 test: iMessage cannot create a routine, but it can be executed after desktop configuration; 9/30 usage observation shows that Google connection is still all or nothing.
Limitations: Official 10/8 docs support Web/email creation and read-only execution; historical tests will not be tampered with based on this
External measurements & hands-on results
Different methods, samples and dates. Not combined into one success rate.
