Perplexity Computer (Cloud)

Computer is a multi-model research/execution system in a persistent cloud sandbox; this article only tests the cloud and does not include Personal Computer's native file/application control.

Personal Pro and Max are available; web and mobile terminals, as well as Slack and email portals. The information I read does not give a complete list of countries/languages ​​allowed by Computer.

Pro USD20/month or 200/year; Max USD200/month or 2000/year; API is charged separately, and the subscription is not equal to the developer API quota.

As of October 9, the help page: Paid Personal Pro is launching a weekly inclusion of usage, replacing monthly points; Max is still 10,000 points per month. Purchase 100 points = USD1; the weekly total is not disclosed.

Conditions: Promotional/Free Pro does not include this weekly usage; Points can be transferred to points after weekly usage is exhausted; automatic recharge needs to be turned on

Limitations: Weekly allocations are rolled out on a rolling basis and cannot be assumed for all accounts to have been switched.; Different efforts and step costs are different and cannot be ranked according to a fixed price per time.

The current Automations replace the old Perplexity Tasks and can be run and notified in a single time/cycle; up to 15 schedules per session. The Computer master file also lists conditions such as emails, calendars, files, and flights for triggering.

Tasks run in an independent persistent sandbox, calling browsers, tools and codes, which can be asynchronous for a long time; the mobile terminal can be delegated/monitored, which does not mean controlling the mobile OS.

The email portal uses the Perplexity service mailbox to reply to the person; the Gmail connector allows users to read, write and send mailboxes, and view/modify calendars. Slack output appears as application bot.

Limitations: Unconfirmed service email addresses can be proactively sent to third parties at will; they are not equivalent to independent employee email addresses.

It can be executed across Gmail/Outlook/GitHub/Linear/Slack/Notion and other tools; the help center has specific creation/update tasks, document and message operations, and permissions need to be confirmed on a connector-by-connector basis.

The release log in March stated that Pro/Max/Enterprise had launched remote MCP; the old MCP help page still said coming soon. The Portable page also says that Cloud Computer does not use the MCP server in Settings, so the general Perplexity MCP cannot be directly used as a tool available for Cloud Computer.

Limitations: There is currently a conflict between the Cloud Computer custom MCP entrance and its applicable scope in official documents, which requires account-level verification; no login is required for this study.

Computer can save third-party API credentials through secure input forms and inject requests through the proxy layer; supports session/personal vault/shared project scope and revocation.

Limitations: This proves that external APIs are called, but does not prove that Computer itself has a public task submission API.

Has persistent personal memory; Max/Enterprise Max's Brain research preview adds people, projects, files and to-do contexts, supports viewing sources, editing/deleting and pausing memory writing, and incognito session exclusion.

Limitations: Turning off the Brain does not mean clearing the stored memory; the Brain itself only maintains the context and does not actively send/execute messages.

Web/mobile task sessions support questioning and files; Slack can @Computer or DM and receive results in the original thread; paid Slack needs to be installed by the administrator.

computer@perplexity.com accepts verified senders that match the account, and supports attachments; it processes the email after confirming it, and then replies with the completed result. Group CC email results will only be returned to the original verified sender.

Multi-model sub-agents study and generate reports, tables, demonstrations, images and applications/websites in parallel, and run code; it is a product function statement with no comparable quality results for the same task.

Browsers, calendars and APIs have execution tools, but this time the current Personal Cloud Computer coverage list, region, confirmation and refund boundaries for merchant ticket purchase/payment/reservation have not been verified.

Subagents can work with different projects in parallel; Slack thread collaboration and shared project API credentials are documented. The number of personal Pro/Max concurrent tasks and common control permissions are not clear.

Limitations: 15 schedule/session is not 15 parallel tasks.; Sharing project credentials may expand the data available to other members.

There is task progress, usage of each thread and automation history; normal operation can be suspended due to insufficient points and resumed after replenishment; automation will be suspended if it fails repeatedly/under balance and needs to be manually re-enabled.

Limitations: The automatic recovery commitment of ordinary tasks cannot be applied to all schedules.; No universal SLA, verifiable retry cap, or atomic rollback promise found.

Credential encrypted agent injection, not directly put into the task track or sandbox; vault items can be revoked. The email portal authenticates the sender and treats forwarded content as material rather than authorization.

Personal plans can opt out of AI data retention/training purposes in settings; companies without training commitments cannot unconditionally subscribe to individuals. Connector OAuth permissions and output sharing still need to be managed on a case-by-case basis.

Limitations: The deletion time limit or geographic residency of each Computer product, backup, and credential has not been verified at this time.
